Covid-19 Response

We know that education and workforce development organizations are suffering due to Covid-19 and the restrictions placed on traditional training for information technology students and hiring efforts on the part of tech companies seeking to fill their many open positions. Creating IT Futures is working hard to help our programs adjust, using technology as a tool to quickly make changes that help organizations work better and smarter.

Following are updates on our programs, including ways you or your company can support them, as well as ways we can help you make needed adjustments.

September 15, 2020 Despite the pandemic, employers across all sectors of the U.S. economy continue to hire workers for tech jobs. That’s according to a recent analysis by CompTIA’s research team. August 26, 2020 Per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, by the end of this decade employment in tech occupations is projected to grow much faster than the average for all other occupations. But how can our nation’s workforce rise to meet this demand when a tech skills gap already leaves about half a million positions working with technology unfilled at any given time? And, as our economy works to recover from pandemic conditions? Listen as Randi Parker, senior director at Creating IT Futures, shares advice for concerned technologists.

May 06, 2020 Is a national pandemic a bad time for changing careers? The answer depends on the individual considering a change, the reasons motivating a change and the industry on the other side of that change. Listen as Val Haskell, chair of CompTIA’s Advancing Tech Talent and Diversity Community explains why she believes now is a good time to consider launching a career working with technology – especially with the support of the new CompTIA Tech Career Academy.

April 22, 2020 As economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic swept the country in March, the U.S. information technology sector still added thousands of jobs. Why?
