During this season of gratitude, we recognize three teen volunteers, high-school technologists who advance the mission of TechGirlz by leading workshops and encouraging girls to embrace technology. Today’s installment features Dhivya Arasappan.

Everybody knows pursuing a technology career is all about the money, right? Just as everyone knows teens never listen to their parents about anything and all U.S. tech jobs are moving overseas. Well, says CEO, award-winning author and social innovator Charles Eaton, on those three points what all those folks seem to know is backward. TechShopz In A Box workshops offer girls a fun, hands-on opportunity to expand their interest in technology. Former participants, now in high school, relished the chance to lead some of the very workshops they enjoyed during middle school. TechGirlz, creator of these workshops, is a nonprofit organization operated by Creating IT Futures.
