Technologist Talk, a podcast produced for CompTIA by Creating IT Futures, took home four awards earlier this month, bestowed by judges of the 2020 AVA Digital Awards international competition. The podcast gained recognition among 2,500 entries for its high standard of excellence.
The podcast “In the Field With Technologists” snagged a platinum award, the competition’s highest honor. This series of episodes sent podcast producers in the field to report on events for aspiring technologists – from teens in middle and high school to adults in career transitions.
Gold award winning “Busting the 7 Myths” features Creating IT Futures CEO Charles Eaton as he dispels several misconceptions that keep teens from pursuing tech careers. These podcasts demonstrate Eaton’s passion for nurturing the next generation of technology talent and highlight information from Eaton’s book “How to Launch Your Teen’s Career in Technology: A Parent’s Guide to the T in STEM Education.”
Two other podcasts received honorable mentions:
- “Technologist Tales” shares conversations with successful people from students to chief executives who encourage the next generation of technology talent – from teens in middle and high school to adults in career transitions – to envision themselves working in tech jobs.
- “Who Is a Technologist?” highlights conversations with Eaton and CompTIA CEO Todd Thibodeaux about why aspiring technologists will play a pivotal role in narrowing our nation’s tech skills gap.
Technologist Talk is a podcast from CompTIA’s tech workforce charity, Creating IT Futures, that shares stories about nurturing the next generation of technology talent through interviews with business leaders, workforce professionals and talent developers. R.C. “Bob” Dirkes, president of R.Clement.Creative, Inc. produced these podcasts.
