AskIT, based in Greenville, SC, is hosting a fundraising campaign to support veterans transitioning into IT occupations. The campaign kicks off today and runs through Veterans Day, November 11.
“Veterans are well-suited for jobs in IT because they are mission-driven, have discipline, and have had to adapt to changing environments. There is a big talent shortage for IT, so we believe that helping veterans will have a huge impact on businesses as well,” said Austin Sanderson, founder, AskIT.
Individual donors can see a detailed video about the campaign and will receive complimentary merchandise, and businesses who donate at or above the $500 level will receive an IT exam voucher worth $198. Donors can participate at https://startsomegood.com/jobsforveterans.
AskIT is partnering with the Creating IT Futures Foundation, who invents better on-ramps to IT careers. Creating IT Futures will match up to $20,000 in CompTIA A+ certification exam costs.
AskIT is a next generation jobs and Q&A site for IT pros and hiring managers. Its mission is to provide an online community with a focus on company culture and candidate quality.
