Technologist Talk “Social Innovation in Action” Podcast Mini-Series Takes the Gold

When you’re doing good work, people notice.

That’s true for Creating IT Future’s Technologist Talk mini-series “Social Innovation in Action with Creating IT Future Partners.” The podcast mini-series just was awarded gold-level recognition from the 2021 Hermes Awards.

The series of three podcasts illustrates how our team members are taking the concept of social innovation and acting on it to make a measurable difference in tech businesses and local communities across the country. Each episode features success stories about great organizations doing meaningful work in the words of people actually living those stories.

While many organizations refer to business philanthropy as “corporate giving,” Creating IT Futures prefers the term “social innovation.” Creating IT Futures sees social innovation as taking an active role in affecting change through initiative creating programs — not just giving money away.

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. Hermes Creative Awards recognize outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals. This recognition program is sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).

In addition to this latest win, Technologist Talk also earned its place on Forrester’s Top 100 Best Channel Podcasts of 2021. This is the second year Technologist Talk has appeared on the list.

Here are the three episodes in the award-winning mini-series. Listen as our team members share stories about partner organizations – TEKsystems, Verizon Foundation and Workday Foundation.

Episode 42 – Talking with Partners: How TEKsystems Works with Creating IT Futures

In appreciation for the donors, sponsors and volunteers who have made the Creating IT Futures mission possible this year — and every year — we share a conversation between Colleen Crino, our chief development officer, and Franklin Reed, director of inclusion and diversity at long-time partner TEKsystems, an organization that for years has supported our youth and adult programs.

Episode 43 – Talking about Partners: How Do Volunteers, Donors, Funders & Sponsors Work with Creating IT Futures

How are the people that work with Creating IT Futures like chickens? For answers to that amusing riddle, listen as Jeff Lareau, manager, strategic partnerships, and Alicia Park, national outreach manager for TechGirlz, describe how they develop and deepen relationships with individuals and organizations that volunteer, donate, fund and sponsor programs such as IT-Ready, TechShopz and TechPodz.

Episode 49 – A Tale of Two Partners: How Verizon & Workday Support Creating IT Futures

How are relationships between Creating IT Futures and philanthropic partners holistic and integrated? This chapter offers two prime examples: Verizon Foundation and Workday Foundation. Listen as Jeff Lareau, manager, strategic partnerships, and Alicia Park, national outreach manager for TechGirlz, share two stories of individuals and organizations that make a measurable difference in tech businesses and local communities across the country.
