Inspiring Success - A blog from Creating IT Futures

Partners Recognized

Jul 10, 2013
Without our dedicated partners and supporters, the Creating IT Futures Foundation would not be able to offer the quality and variety of training programs that make a difference in the lives of so many individuals. Our growth and success over the past year has been phenomenal, and we offer thanks to these generous businesses and organizations for their participation and support:

Partners:
CompTIA, Inc.
Pearson VUE
CDW
HP
Pitney Bowes Foundation
Ricoh
Intronis, Inc.
Robert Half International Inc.

Since its debut in early 2012, the IT-Ready Apprentice Program has helped train, certify, and place unemployed and under-employed individuals into their first paid roles with participating companies. In partnership with Per Scholas, the IT-Ready program has grown to encompass four locations: Cincinnati, Columbus, Minneapolis / St. Paul, and New York City, serving over 700 individuals each year. Two additional locations (to be announced) are slated to open in 2014.

Future IT-Ready projects include:

IT-Ready Youth: An initiative to bring more young people into relevant education and training for IT careers.

IT-Ready Boot Camp: Participants learn the skills needed to be successful in IT-Ready Apprentice Program before applying. They can brush up on their basic math and reading skills, learn valuable communication skills, tackle IT jargon, increase basic computer skills, and identify career pathways in IT.

IT-Ready 2.0: A resource for unemployed workers with IT degrees or certifications who need coaching on resumes, interviewing, and other soft skills taught in the IT-Ready Apprentice Program.

“This is a good time for corporations and other funders to partner with Creating IT Futures, because there is so much momentum right now,” said Colleen Attwell (cattwell@comptia.org), the foundation’s director of development and operations. “There are a number of ways that companies can get involved, and we’re always open to new ideas of working together.”
