Tinker Girls
November 11, 2017
Vernon Hills, IL
Girl Scouts ages 4th-8th grades can dabble with technology and engineering at the 3rd annual Tinker Girls event. The day will include breakout sessions, expert presentations, and interactive exhibits. Scouts can fill a bag with tons of free goodies, an exclusive Girl Scout prize, and a custom Tinker Girls patch. Creating IT Futures will showcase what’s inside a computer and how they work and conduct a tech bingo game.  Register.

The Skills Show
November 16-18
NEC Birmingham, UK
For kids ages 11-18, they can have a go at something they’ve never done by trying hands-on job-related skills across a range of careers – from TV production to demolition simulation to virtual welding to 3d modeling. Creating IT Futures’ Eric Larson will speak on the opening and closing day about tech careers, showcasing what jobs really are like in the tech industry. Register.

NICE K-12 Cybersecurity Education Conference
December 4-5
Nashville, TN
During NICE’s cybersecurity conference for the K-12 academic market, thought leaders from education, government, industry, and non-profits will address how K-12 education can increase skills development and guide career development for today’s youth. On day one of the conference, CompTIA’s Randi Parker and Creating IT Futures’ Eric Larson will present a session on closing the confidence gap in our future cyberforce. The two organizations are creating innovative programs designed to bridge the confidence gap and get more students interested in future tech careers. Register.

GTS Career Connection

The inaugural Career Connection event brings together IT representatives from state, county and city agencies to connect Minnesotans with opportunities in government. More than just a job fair, Career Connection provides attendees with the opportunity to engage with employers face-to-face and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available in government agencies. Creating IT Futures will be there to showcase IT-Ready and its pathway to getting adults into tech careers. Register.

A 501(c)(3) charity was established in 1998 by CompTIA, the Information Technology Industry Trade Association, as a way to help people improve their lives through IT careers.

We help populations that are under-represented in IT and individuals who are lacking in opportunity to prepare for, secure and be successful in IT careers.
